INMO — Indian National Mathematical Olympiad

HBCSE · Classes 8–12 · 2026–27 window: Jan 2027 (expected)

The national championship of school mathematics. INMO awardees enter the IMO training camp.

Roughly the top 30–65 students per region from RMO sit INMO. Six proof problems over 4.5 hours. INMO awardees attend IMOTC, from which India's six-member IMO team is selected.

Who is it for?

Students of Classes 8–12. Subject focus: Maths. As with any olympiad, the best candidates are children who voluntarily enjoy the subject — an olympiad should stretch curiosity, not manufacture pressure.
